How it all started...
Flint Groves Baptist Church was founded in 1923 to reach the Flint Mill and Groves community of Gastonia, NC. Planted by East Baptist Church, Flint Groves has always been committed to making, maturing, and multiplying followers of Jesus.
Over the years, that mission has grown — planting Grace Baptist Church in 1959, launching global missions efforts in 2003 to Thailand, Russia, and Albania, and establishing Iglesia de Gastonia — Ministerio Hispano Flint Groves in 2005.
Through each new season, we strive to make, mature, and multiply followers of the Lord Jesus to the praise of His glorious grace.

God has been faithful to Flint Groves for generations, and we believe He is continuing to lead us forward with purpose. While our mission remains the same—to make, mature, and multiply followers of Jesus Christ—our vision is growing as we seek to live that out more intentionally.
We are focusing on deeper discipleship, stronger gospel-centered community, and equipping every member to live on mission in their everyday lives. Our desire is not simply to grow, but to grow in faithfulness—becoming a church where people are rooted in God’s Word, connected to one another, and actively living out the gospel.

As we look ahead, our focus is not just on what we hope to see happen, but how we faithfully pursue it together.
We are committed to building a church where discipleship is intentional, relationships are meaningful, and every person understands their role in God’s mission. We want to equip and encourage every member to grow in their faith, serve with purpose, and share the gospel in their everyday lives.
This means continuing to invest in the next generation, strengthening families, and creating environments where people can clearly see and respond to the truth of God’s Word. It also means stepping beyond our walls—engaging our community and supporting gospel work around the world.
We believe God has called us to be a church that doesn’t just gather, but goes—living with gospel purpose in our homes, our city, and wherever He leads.

What we are trusting God For...
We are prayerfully trusting God to do more than we could ask or imagine as we pursue His mission together. Over the next 10 years, we are asking Him to:
- See 500 people come to know Jesus Christ and be baptized
- Grow into 1,000 healthy, engaged church members
- Help plant or revitalize 5 churches
